The MANNITOL test is a bronchial provocation test that measures hyperreactivity of your airways.

During the test, you inhale increasing doses of mannitol – a sugar compound and your lung function is measured after each dose using a spirometer.

The test is de ned as positive if there is a reduction in lung function of 15%, which can be reverted by asthma medication.

You may experience cough and irritation of your airways during the test.

The test takes approximately 30 minutes. MANNITOL is a standard test in pulmonary diagnostics.
